President Bola Tinubu has authorised the partial implementation of recommendations from the Stephen Oronsaye report, aiming to merge certain parastatals, agencies, and commissions, while others will undergo absorption, dissolution, or relocation.
According to Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, the decision was reached during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Monday.
This move aligns with the imperative to reduce the cost of governance and enhance efficiency throughout the governance framework.

Furthermore, FEC received a report from an inter-ministerial panel tasked with reviewing the National Social Investment Programme’s operations.
The Council also endorsed the immediate resumption of direct payments to 12 million households, benefiting 60 million Nigerians, with specific conditions attached.
