Rivers United secured a dramatic victory over Rangers in the President Federation Cup Round of 32. The Port Harcourt side triumphed 3-2 in a thrilling encounter in Uyo.
The match started with intensity as Rivers United asserted early dominance. Chijioke Mbaoma opened scoring with a precise header in the fifth minute.
His goal came from a well-delivered cross by Ubong Friday. That early strike immediately set the tone for a fiercely contested clash.
Before halftime, Rivers United extended their advantage through Wisdom Samuel who finished off a brilliant attacking move with composure and skill.

Rangers responded strongly after the break with renewed urgency. Godwin Obaje reduced the deficit from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
Just two minutes later, Precious Agu equalised to restore parity. The quick turnaround injected fresh tension into the contest.
