Nollywood actor Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu, widely known as Nkubi, has opened up about how discrimination over his physical stature influenced his decision to pursue acting.
Speaking on a recent episode of the One On One podcast with his wife, Nkubi discussed the stigma faced by people with dwarfism and how it shaped his early life.
He explained that he did not fully grasp his situation as a child but began to confront it after leaving secondary school, when repeated job rejections made his reality clear.
“As a child you barely understand your reality but you knew you were different from every regular person.

“When the reality of being a little person first hit me was when I finished secondary school and I couldn’t secure minor jobs like others,” he stated.
The actor also expressed concern that his daughter is already experiencing similar discrimination online, as trolls direct hurtful comments at him because of her size.
He added that both he and his wife were aware of the likelihood of having a child with dwarfism and had emotionally prepared themselves for it.
His wife, however, said that despite their preparation, it remains painful to see their child repeatedly bullied without provocation.
She further revealed that a doctor once advised her to conceive with another man to avoid having a child with dwarfism, but she declined.
