Necklines do not only add beauty to the neck. It adds a substantial amount of beauty to the overall appearance of an outfit. Note that, necklines can make a normal outfit a classy one. This article will give tips on different necklines alongside the body type they suit best.

1. Scalloped Neck

Scalloped neck is usually combined with other types of necklines. Like its name, it has small convex repeated curves alongside the neckline. The pattern is in resemblance to a scallop shell’s edge. It is more of a design used to beautify the neckline and draw attention to the collarbone.

Queen Anne neckline embodies grace and perfection. It combines high collars with either Scoop, V-neck, or Sweetheart neckline at the front. This neckline is a delicate cut that fits almost everyone who wears it. If you are looking for a neckline that is extra and classy, then the Queen Anne neckline is for you.

3. Boat Neck

This neckline is inspired by a classic sailor shirt. It stretches wide across the neck and sits just past the collarbones. This neckline looks tempting and simple and is quite suitable for all. While it might not fit broad-shouldered persons, it is perfect for pear-shaped bodies.

The boat neck draws the eyes outward, creating the illusion of a better posture. It elongates the neck and creates a leaner torso.

4. Square neck

Just like the name implies, this neckline appears in the form of a square shape. It is great for wide shoulders and creates the right curves around the bust. Those with narrower shoulders and wider hips look good on a square neckline dress.

Like necklines, it creates the illusion of a longer neck and draws attention to the collarbones. The triangle and pear body shape specifically look admirable on a square neckline dress.

5. Collar neck

The collar neck is one of the most common necklines. It appears to be simple, official, and classy. This neckline is found on button-ups, blazers, denim jackets, dresses and other clothing style. A collar is usually differentiated from the neckline. It is either folded out or cut out.

There are different types of collar necks namely; flat, standing, and rolled collars. Small busted, narrow-shouldered,-shouldered, and long-faced looks good on dresses with this neckline.

6. V-neckline

A V-neck dress or shirt is a must-have. The inserted triangle or V-neck has an overlapping neckline that creates a V-shape. This draws attention inward to the chest. It looks flattering on apple-shaped, torsoed, and petite-framed people.
