Stanley Ontop reveals cause of Alex Ekubo’s death

Fresh details have emerged on the untimely death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo who was aged 41.

Film producer Stanley Ontop in a post on Instagram shared that the actor had been dealing with stage 4 liver cancer since 2024, a condition he kept away from the public eye while continuing his career for a period of time.

According to Ontop, Alex Ekubo went through medical treatment and later had a liver transplant in an effort to manage the illness. He was said to have returned briefly to work after the procedure.

His condition was reported to have worsened after the transplanted liver developed complications and eventually failed again. This led to a steady decline in his health until his death.
