Nigerian dancehall legend, John Asiemo, better known as Daddy Showkey, has recounted a touching encounter he had with Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, during the 50th birthday celebration of renowned fashion designer, Seyi Vodi.
The event, which took place on July 20th at the Bola Tinubu Centre in Abuja, drew several high-profile guests from across the country.
Taking to Instagram, Daddy Showkey shared a video and detailed how Seyi Tinubu made a heartfelt move that left a lasting impression on him. Despite being surrounded by heavy security and a large crowd, Seyi Tinubu approached the veteran musician to greet him.

“@seyitinubu did something that touch me, I was standing a few meters away from him at @seyivodi birthday with all his security the crowd of people around him, and even the people sitting around me, which we are trying to walk to greeting,” Daddy Showkey wrote.
He noted that prior to Seyi Tinubu’s warm gesture, several celebrities at the party had ignored his presence. However, Seyi’s public acknowledgment prompted others to follow suit.
“I was standing just dancing where I am and Seyi spotted me and left everybody shouted my name Ah SHOWKEY BABA , this young Man humble himself walk to Greet me Many of the Young celebrities that saw me but too big to come greet until they saw Seyi reaction too was me the that is when they started coming to greet Me,” he said.
Daddy Showkey concluded his post with praise for the younger Tinubu’s character, writing, “I will say this there it’s nothing greater than humbleness.”
