Tinubu greer Emir of Ilorin, Sulu-Gambari, on 85th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the occasion of his 85th birthday, marked on Monday.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the royal father for his lifelong commitment to public service and nation-building.

The Emir, a former Justice of the Court of Appeal, was the pioneer Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the old Gongola State.

He was called to the Bar in 1968 and went on to serve as a High Court judge in Borno State from 1977, before his elevation to the Court of Appeal in 1983.

Tinubu commended the monarch, who also chairs the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, for his consistent advocacy for unity, peace, and national progress.

He further acknowledged the Emir’s service as Chancellor of both Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

The President joined the Emir’s family, the Ilorin Emirate, and the people of Kwara State in celebrating the milestone, praying for the Emir’s continued good health and strength to enjoy many more peaceful and impactful years on the throne.
