Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar stated that Donald Trump’s return as President of the United States undeniably stands as a lasting testament to the strength and resilience of democracy.

In a post on his X page Wednesday, Atiku described the victory as a timeless reminder that democracy, despite its challenges, remains a positive force in the world.

He noted that he followed the election closely, watching with anticipation as the American people determined their nation’s future.

“It is with even greater satisfaction that I now reflect on the result, which heralds a resounding victory for President Donald Trump, and the Republican Party.

“The narrative of President Trump’s political journey, marked by his struggles and triumphs, shall serve as an inspiring parable of courage in the face of adversity — a lesson in the art of rising after every fall, and ultimately, emerging victorious”, he said.

Atiku remarked that as the world celebrates President Trump’s remarkable comeback, there is hope he will continue championing credible elections globally and remain committed to dismantling anti-democratic forces wherever they may exist.

He noted that Trump’s victory serves as a lesson for Nigeria, highlighting the integrity of a process that ensures a credible outcome.

Atiku further expressed the expectation that the Trump administration would stand firm in promoting free and fair elections in Nigeria and worldwide.
