The 40th edition of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) flagship program, Wrestlemania took place in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6.
The first night of the Wrestlemania XL event witnessed the emergence of new champions and the continuation of the domination of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns and the bloodline.
In one of the main events, Sami Zayn defeated the longest reigning Intercontinental champion, Gunther to claim the title. Gunther entered the match havenāt held the title for 666 days, a record.
Jey Uso defeated his twin brother, Jimmy in the much anticipated sibling rivalry.
Womenās World champion, Rhea Rhipley retained her title after she defeated former womenās champion, Becky Lynch in one of the fun matches of the night.
In the ladder match that took place at Wrestlemania, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory won the Smackdown tag time title as The Miz and R-Truth, otherwise known as āAwesome Truthā grabbed the Raw tag team title from the top of the ladder.
Wrestling veteran, Rey Mysterio and Andrade defeated Dominic āDirty Domā Mysterio and Escobar in a grudge match.
The team of Jade Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Belair defeated Damage Ctrl.
In the final match of the night, The Rock and Reigns won the match after the former pinned Cody Rhodes to hand the Bloodline a win.
The second night of Wrestlemania XL will be coming up on Sunday night, April 7. The main event will see the Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes wage war against the WWE Undisputed champion, Roman Reigns in a āBloodline Rulesā match.
Also, Drew Mclyntre will be vying for the World Heavyweight title against Seth Rollins.
