Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has expressed deep sorrow over the killings and abductions in Oyo State and other parts of Nigeria, following recent attacks that left communities in fear.
In a post on her X page, she said, “My heart is deeply heavy over the painful killings and abductions happening in Oyo State and across different parts of Nigeria.”
She explained that her connection to Oyo State makes the tragedy feel personal, adding, “As someone with strong ties to Oyo State through family, culture, and love for the people, this tragedy feels very personal to me.”

Her reaction comes after the recent attack in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where armed men invaded schools, abducted students and teachers, and killed one of the victims. The incident has continued to raise concerns about insecurity in the state.

Toyin Abraham also mourned with affected families, saying, “It is heartbreaking to see innocent lives lost, families thrown into mourning, children living in fear, and communities traumatized by violence.”
She stressed that no Nigerian should live in fear, noting, “No Nigerian deserves to live in fear. No child should be afraid to go to school. No family should wake up to news of violence and bloodshed.”
While acknowledging efforts by security agencies and the state government, she called for stronger action, urging authorities to ensure the safe return of those still in captivity and improve protection for communities.
