The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested popular Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa for the alleged misuse of Nigeria’s currency.
Inuwa was taken into custody on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, by operatives from the EFCC’s Kano Zonal Directorate.
Her arrest followed the spread of a viral video showing the actress using Naira notes to wipe mucus from her nose, an act considered a violation of currency laws.

Confirming the arrest, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said the video triggered immediate action by the Commission.
Oyewale explained that officers tracked down the actress after the clip gained widespread attention and arrested her for questioning over the alleged mutilation of the Naira.
He added that Inuwa is currently in the custody of the Commission while investigations continue and that she will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
