GTCO raises final dividend to N11.76, total payout N12.76 for 2025

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has declared a final dividend of N11.76 per share for the 2025 financial year, bringing total dividends to N12.76 per share after an interim payment of N1.00 earlier in the year.

The final dividend represents a 67 per cent increase over the N7.03 final dividend paid in 2024, lifting the full-year payout by 59 per cent.

The group reported a pre-tax profit of N1.23 trillion for 2025, a slight decline of 2.78 per cent from N1.27 trillion recorded in the previous year.

Profit after tax fell 14.94 per cent to N865.7 billion, while earnings per share dropped to N25.42 from N35.44.

Interest income rose to N1.6 trillion, supported by loans and advances as well as investment securities, while net interest income after impairment stood near N1.19 trillion.

Total assets expanded to N17.7 trillion, while customer deposits accounted for N12.5 trillion of total liabilities, which stood at N14.3 trillion.

Shareholders’ funds rose to N3.4 trillion, underscoring a stronger equity base for the holding company.

GTCO’s performance reflects broader trends in Nigeria’s banking sector, where rising interest income has been partially offset by elevated operating costs and impairment adjustments.
