Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has shared how his decision to pursue a career in music created tension between him and his father.
In a recent conversation with YouTuber Korty EO, the “Sungba” singer recounted how their once-close relationship became strained after his father opposed his ambition to venture into music.
Asake revealed that despite his father’s disapproval, he chose to follow his passion, even if it meant leaving home against his wishes.

“My dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now but my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless,” he said.
It would be recalled that in March 2025, the singer’s father, Fatai Odunsi, attracted public attention after accusing Asake of neglect and abandonment.

The situation later eased after public criticism, with both father and son reconciling, as the singer accepted responsibility for his father’s care.
