Nigerian music producer and singer, Young John, has admitted that Davido’s level of wealth sometimes leaves him feeling financially inadequate.
He made this confession during a brief chat at the Paris Fashion Week, where he was asked whether he had ever encountered someone who made him feel broke.
“Ever met someone who made you feel broke?” the interviewer asked.
“Too many times, bro. Davido,” Young John replied. “Whenever I see his money, I’m like, I need to work hard and drop more songs.”
Despite the intimidation he feels, Young John also noted that Davido’s success serves as a motivation for him to keep pushing in his music career.

Born John Saviours Udomboso, Young John is signed to Chocolate City Music. He began his career as a producer under Olamide’s YBNL Nation, where he crafted several hits for the likes of Olamide, Lil Kesh, and others within the label’s roster.
During the 2010s, he became a prominent figure in Nigerian music production and was recognized by The NET as one of the “Top 7 Biggest Music Producers” in the country. He also earned nominations for “Producer of the Year” at both the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and The Headies that same year.
