The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has launched its Artificial Intelligence-powered Companies Registration Portal (ICRP), aiming to complete business registration in under 10 minutes.
Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji (SAN), disclosed this during the 2025 CAC Management Retreat in Kaduna, marking his second anniversary in office.
Magaji described the Intelligent Companies Registration Portal, launched on June 30, 2025, as a major breakthrough in Nigeria’s corporate registry reforms and a revolution in service delivery.
He explained that the system allows users to reserve names, register businesses, and instantly generate certificates without staff involvement. He said the innovation followed years of system failures that previously hindered CAC operations.

Magaji credited the successful deployment to collaboration with the service provider, Oasis, and noted that the next phase of AI integration will support compliance, approvals, and customer service functions.
According to him, CAC’s AI strategy was inspired by the United Kingdom’s Companies House model, emphasizing that artificial intelligence will enhance human judgment, not replace it.
He added that new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have been introduced to align human tasks with AI operations, ensuring all staff remain relevant.
Magaji also reviewed progress under his Four-Point Agenda covering staff welfare, capacity building, institutional strengthening, and revenue generation. He noted full payment of welfare entitlements, new staff buses, and expanded training programs.
He stressed that AI adoption has eliminated human delays and external interference in application processing, promoting transparency and trust.
