Nigerian music star, Davido, has opened up about his career journey and the direction he intends to take in the next phase of his musical evolution.
Speaking during an appearance on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, the award-winning artist reflected on his achievements, noting that he has performed globally and earned multiple recognitions, including consecutive Grammy Awards nominations over the past three years.
Davido explained that he is now satisfied with his accomplishments and is shifting focus back to his roots by embracing a more authentic African sound, rather than blending heavily with Western influences for global appeal.

Davido said, “This part of my career, I have performed everywhere, sold out every arena, I have been to three Grammys in the last three years. The music that is coming next is very Davido, it is very African. We have done it so I am not really looking to really do western sounds.”
He also highlighted the strong support he enjoys from fans in South Africa, claiming that a large percentage of the population is familiar with and appreciates his music.
Over the years, Davido has worked with several South African artists and has earned multiple certifications within the country’s music industry.
