Nigerian singer Daniel Benson, popularly known as BNXN, has said that living in Lagos is more expensive than living in the United States.

The singer made the remark during a recent TikTok livestream while speaking about his experience after relocating to the US.

According to him, one of the things he noticed after moving was that people do not approach him for money the way they do in Lagos.

He said that despite the economic challenges many people face in America, he has not had strangers asking him for financial assistance since arriving there.

BNXN also compared the cost of living in Lagos with that of Los Angeles, California.

He stated that Lagos is more expensive than the American city in many areas of daily life.

The singer explained that housing remains one of the major expenses in Los Angeles, revealing that he pays about $12,000 every month for rent.

However, he maintained that apart from accommodation, many other living costs in the city are not as high as what residents face in Lagos.

He added that once rent and regular bills are paid in the United States, residents can go about their activities without facing constant demands for money from street beggars or hoodlums.

“I was telling someone, since I got to the United States, nobody has asked me to give them money. And people are also suffering here.

“Lagos is super expensive. It is more expensive than Los Angeles. Aside from housing, every other thing in LA is not expensive. For instance, I am paying $12,000 monthly for my rent. Here you just pay your rent, and you’re good.”
