The Anambra State Police Command announced the arrest of a suspected armed robber and separatist group member, Charles Chinonso, aged 32, and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
The arrest was made yesterday in a coordinated operation at Umuazu Village, Nise, within the Awka South Local Government Area.
The arrest was initiated after a victim reported that their vehicle had been stolen in the World Bank Housing Area, Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.

The Anambra State Police Command’s Special Anti-Cultism Squad, using intelligence and technology, tracked the vehicle to its location, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu stated that the Anambra State Police will collaborate with their counterparts in the Imo State Police Command to handle the case, given that the robbery occurred within Imo’s jurisdiction.
The suspect and the recovered vehicle will be processed according to established legal procedures.
