Pending Darma confirmation and formal assumption of office, Dangiwa was instructed to hand over duties to the Minister of State in the ministry.
Tinubu gave a clear timeline for the transition process across the affected ministries.
“All handing over and taking over processes should be completed on or before the close of business on Thursday, 23rd April, 2026.”
He described the changes as part of efforts to improve coordination within government and strengthen the delivery of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu noted that he acted within the powers granted under Sections 147 and 148 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
While appreciating the service of the outgoing ministers, he indicated that the reshuffle may not be the last.
He stressed that the process of reviewing and strengthening the cabinet would continue as the administration advances into its next phase.
