The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Scheduled to hold from 13 January to 11 February, this year’s edition will be the 34th.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles departed Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday morning and arrived in Abidjan before 2pm local time.
Players and officials were seen at the airport donning traditional white kaftans with green caps. Players like Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Sadiq Umar and captain Ahmed Musa all rocked the native attire.
Earlier on Tuesday night, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted the Nigerian contingent to a farewell dinner.
Nigeria are seeking to win a fourth AFCON title following previous successes in 1980, 1994 and 2013.

Jose Peseiro’s charges will file out against Equatorial Guinea in their first game on Sunday. The team will also face hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.
