Business: NLC and TUC protest
This week, the unfolding narrative of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) strike has dominated discussions. NRTC WEEKLY has learned that the unions initiated the strike to assert their demands.
Among their key demands was the prosecution of individuals responsible for assaulting NLC President Joseph Ajaero in Owerri, Imo State. NRTC WEEKLY also reported that the strike, which gained traction, saw participation from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other groups, lasting for a single day.
In a range of reactions, some citizens drum up support for the unions’ efforts to address economic and labor issues, others are concerned about the disruptions caused by the strike.

The strike is also seen as a reflection of deeper socio-economic issues in Nigeria, including inflation, unemployment, and a perceived lack of government responsiveness. Some Nigerians believe that the unions are justified in their demands for better working conditions, increased wages, and improved governance.
As the situation unfolds, the government’s response and the eventual resolution of the issues raised by the TUC and NLC will likely shape public opinion and determine the long-term impact of the strike on Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape.
NRTC WEEKLY learned that the strike was suspended following the intervention of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Entertainment: Oladips’s death rumour
Amidst the tears that freely flowed, heartfelt tributes poured in for the late Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, widely known as Oladips, a beloved Nigerian rapper who passed away at the age of 28. The confirmation of his untimely demise came through the singer’s management team, who shared the somber news on Instagram last Wednesday.
The statement revealed that the rapper had been silently grappling with an undisclosed ailment for the past two years. However, in a surprising twist a few days after his passing, the narrative took an unexpected turn when fellow singer Fakoya Qudus Oluwadamilare, known by his stage name Qdot, emphatically asserted that Oladips was indeed alive.
Netizens speculate that the singer staged his own death as a promotional stunt for the newly launched album, Superhero Omo Adugbo, released by his management team, as reported by NRTC WEEKLY.
The revelation of the singer’s supposed death left Netizens in a state of shock and disbelief. Social media witnessed a flurry of emotions, spanning from anger to confusion, as the news rapidly circulated.

The incident sparked intense online debates, with fans and critics alike sharing their thoughts on the ethics of faking one’s death in the age of social media.
Politics: Tinubu led administration bankruptcy claim
The administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has faced criticism for asserting that it inherited a financially strained nation from former President Muhammadu Buhari. The statement was attributed to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, as reported by NRTC WEEKLY.
Following this assertion, various segments of Nigerian society, including citizens, political parties, and discerning members, have urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration to transparently disclose the specific amount inherited from the previous government.
Nigerians have expressed a myriad of opinions regarding the current administration’s tendency to attribute its performance challenges to the alleged shortcomings of the previous administration. While some citizens acknowledge the impact of inheriting a potentially challenging economic situation, there is a growing sentiment that blaming the former administration has become a recurrent narrative that may be wearing thin.
Netizens maintained that blaming predecessors might be deflecting attention from the Tinubu’s administration’s responsibility to implement effective policies and address pressing issues.
