President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his election as the President of the Republic of Senegal.
President Tinubu noted that President-elect Faye brings great promise and a sterling record and wished him success as he assumes the important role of leading the people of Senegal.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu also congratulated His Excellency, President Macky Sall, for overseeing an election that has been widely judged as peaceful and transparent.

President Tinubu emphasised that the success of the presidential election in Senegal and the recent general election in Liberia affirm his long-held belief that the foundation of democracy is firmly established in West Africa and will only flourish with good governance, justice, and fairness for all.
As the Chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu asserts that the successful conduct of the Senegalese election bolsters the sub-regional organization’s efforts to promote peace, constitutional order, and strengthen ties among member states.
President Tinubu extends congratulations to the people of Senegal and assures them of Nigeria’s best wishes and support.
