President Bola Tinubu will address Nigerians by 7am on Thursday, June 12, as part of events marking this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
The presidential address will be followed by his appearance at a joint session of the National Assembly around noon.
This information was made known on Wednesday by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day, which is coordinating the events lined up for the occasion.
While Tinubu is expected to speak early in the morning and later participate in legislative activities, there will be no Democracy Day parade this year.
However, a public lecture is scheduled to take place by 4pm at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
The lecture, which is part of the day’s events, will focus on the progress made in Nigeria’s democratic journey and the need for reforms that will keep democracy on a stable path.
