Sanwo-Olu appoints Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa as new DG of education quality assurance

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa as the new Director-General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), with immediate effect.

The appointment letter was presented to Ogunmuyiwa at the Office of the Head of Service, Alausa, Ikeja.

Ogunmuyiwa is a seasoned education administrator with over 25 years of progressive experience in key areas such as school evaluation, planning, quality assurance systems, and educational leadership within the Lagos State Government.

His academic qualifications include a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Abuja, two Master’s degrees (in Educational Administration and Guidance & Counselling), and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Lagos.

Before his new role, Ogunmuyiwa held several strategic positions at OEQA, including Head of Planning, Head of Education Quality Assurance Services, and most recently, Director of Private Education and Special Programmes, where he oversaw school accreditation, quality monitoring, and systemic improvement initiatives.

He has been repeatedly recognized as the Best Staff of OEQA between 2012 and 2022.

Congratulating the newly appointed Director-General, the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, expressed confidence in Ogunmuyiwa’s ability to enhance the quality of education in the state.

“I am confident that Dr Ogunmuyiwa’s appointment will further enhance the quality of education in Lagos State, and I urge him to continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our education system remains a model for others to emulate,” Agoro said.

Ogunmuyiwa is also known as a respected member of multiple professional bodies and a sought-after mentor and facilitator for training sessions across government and private organisations.
