The Ogun State Police Command has foiled a planned conspiracy to abduct a Chinese national and arrested two suspects in connection with a ₦50 million ransom plot.

According to a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, operatives of the Obalende Division acted on credible intelligence and intercepted the suspects along the Ijebu‑Ode/Odogbolu Expressway corridor on June 9, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m.

The arrested suspects were identified as Chinedu Onwuemena, 41, and Jimoh Ojo, 37. Preliminary investigations revealed that Onwuemena, who worked within the company environment as an interpreter and driver, allegedly exploited his position to facilitate the criminal plan.
