Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood’s favorite queens who has been acting since she was six years old. She first made her debut as a child actor when she starred alongside her father, Jon Voight in the movie titled, Looking to Get Out in 1982. Her father is an award-winning actor who came into the limelight starring in movies that were prominent in the late 1960s.

Career

Angelina Jolie began her professional film career in 1993. She starred in two movies before her fame finally broke out in 1995 starring in the movie Hackers. She is the star of the Tomb Raider franchise, which was an adaptation of a video game that reigned in the early 2000s. Starring in this movie brought Angelina Jolie to the international limelight.

For a role in a movie, Angelina gets an average of $20 million as payment. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. Angelina’s acting journey has not been smooth, she has received a fair share of criticism because of her acting, relationship, aura, behavior, and even sexuality.

Angelina played Thena in Marvel’s superhero movie titled Eternals. The movie received a lot of criticism as a result of its overbearing plot and inconclusiveness. Angelina Jolie has been engaging in movie directing since 2007 when she directed the documentary A Place in Time. She directed other movies like In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011). Personal Life

Angelina has no husband. Her love life has been a rocky one. She has been divorced thrice from actors Johnny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton, and Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie became legally single on April 12, 2019, following the divorce suit that she filed against her ex-husband, Brad Pitt on September 19, 2016. She is currently in sole custody of their six children.

Humanitarian Work

Angelina Jolie is a humanitarian who has embarked on more than 40 field missions. The Academy Award recipient has involved herself in humanitarian activities ever since she saw the state of the war-torn Cambodia while shooting scenes for the movie, Tomb Raider. In respect to this, she received an honorary citizenship from the Cambodian award. Angelina believes in justice and equality.

The famous actress has also visited countries like Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Pakistan on philanthropic visits donating considerable amounts to taking care of refugees. The humanitarian actress has visited war zones like the Darfur region, and the Syrian-Iraqi border.

She was a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for more than a decade. She held the rank of Special Envoy to High Commissioner, Antonio Guterres on April 17, 2012. Angelina Jolie resigned from ambassadorship in December 2022 pledging to continue what she has started with advocacy for refugees.

Motherhood

The actress is a supportive mother of six children; Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Maddox, Pax and Zahara are adopted. Her last three are her biological children whom she had with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Angelina has been supportive of her daughter Shiloh who is more in the spotlight than any of Jolie-Pitt’s children. In her interview with PEOPLE, the 48-year-old mother of six said she was very honest with her kids. Children sure love parents who are real with them.

After Angelina divorced Brad, she gained full custody of their six children who have been under her care since then. Brad Pitt co-parents with her giving her the support she needs.
