In a bold move to boost education and healthcare delivery, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has signed into law a bill establishing the state College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The new institution is expected to catalyse development in host communities and beyond, improving infrastructure and generating employment for residents across the state.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, applauded Okpebholo for his commitment to people-focused governance.

He noted that the Assembly thoroughly reviewed and passed the bill, believing it could serve as a vehicle for socioeconomic transformation—particularly in Esan Central and across the broader Esan region.
