Ex-LG Chairmen declare support for Governor Aiyedatiwa

The immediate past Local Government Chairmen in Ondo State have declared their support for the administration led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

They commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for the steps taken towards the development of the state.

On Wednesday, the group, led by former Chairman of Akure South local government Gbenga Olaniyi, paid a condolence visit to the governor.

In a statement, Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, mentioned that the group expressed sympathy for the demise of the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Mr. Olaniyi commended the impactful legacy of the late governor, noting achievements across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, and security.

Expressing admiration for Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, Mr Olaniyi acknowledged the preservation of peace and continuity of the late governor’s legacy.

In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked the former council chairmen for their visit and emphasized the significant contributions of the late former governor.

Aiyedatiwa highlighted the historical milestones achieved under Akeredolu’s leadership, including the appointment of the first female SSG, Ilaje’s first deputy governor, and posthumously, the first Ilaje governor.

Acknowledging the mixed emotions surrounding the loss, Governor Aiyedatiwa invited the members to be part of the burial arrangements, emphasizing the need to celebrate the late governor’s purposeful life.
