Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was the standout performer for Fulham, scoring twice despite their 3-2 defeat to West Ham in an exciting Premier League clash at the London Stadium.
However, his efforts were not enough to prevent Fulham’s first league loss in nine matches.
West Ham’s win marked new manager Graham Potter’s first victory in what was his first Premier League game with the Hammers.

West Ham took control early, racing to a 2-0 lead before halftime. Goals from Tomáš Souček and Carlos Soler, scored in quick succession, left Fulham chasing the game. The Hammers maintained their dominance throughout the first half, exploiting gaps in Fulham’s defense with precision.
Iwobi responded brilliantly after the break, reducing the deficit in the 51st minute. Picking up the ball outside the box, he lofted a perfectly weighted pass into the area. The ball, deceptively chipped, trickled past Łukasz Fabiański, bringing Fulham back into contention at 2-1.
However, West Ham restored their two-goal advantage when Lucas Paquetá scored midway through the second half, making it 3-1. Despite the setback, Iwobi refused to back down, demonstrating his determination and skill once more.
His second goal came as he delivered another lofted ball into the box. Although Harry Wilson failed to connect, the flight of the ball wrong-footed Fabiański and found the net, making it 3-2.
Iwobi’s influence was evident throughout the match, but his efforts could not secure a comeback. Substituted late in the game, he left the pitch to applause, with Rodrigo Muniz taking his place.
The Nigerian international has been exceptional for Fulham this season, boasting seven goals and three assists in 21 league appearances.
