Ojulari unveils vision for future-ready NNPC

The newly appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has assured staff of his commitment to transforming the company into a globally competitive, high-performing energy corporation that will be the pride of all Nigerians.

Ojulari made the pledge during a town hall meeting with thousands of NNPC staff at the company’s headquarters in Abuja yesterday, just days after assuming office.

Describing his appointment as both a “huge honour and responsibility,” Ojulari said NNPC Ltd. stands at the threshold of a new era, one that calls for “courage, professionalism, and a relentless drive for excellence.”

He outlined an ambitious agenda that includes attracting $30 billion in investments by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030; increasing crude oil production to over 2 million barrels per day by 2027, with a target of 3 million barrels by 2030.

He also outlined expanding refining capacity to 200,000 barrels per day by 2027 and 500,000 barrels by 2030, and growing gas production to 10 billion cubic feet per day by 2027 and 12 bcf by 2030.

Ojulari emphasised that these goals are not just statistics but represent tangible progress in energy security, job creation, and industrial growth for Nigeria.

He said the company will achieve these objectives by reconfiguring its business structure for agility and value creation, enforcing a performance-driven culture, fostering data-backed decision-making, and building transparent, value-based partnerships

.“It’s time we tell our story—one of innovation, reform, and national pride,” he said.

“We are a renewed, forward-facing, and future-ready organisation, proudly leading Nigeria’s energy transformation.”

He also pledged to foster an inclusive work environment, promising to create a space where both experienced professionals and younger talents can thrive.

“We recognise that our greatest asset is our people. Our success will be powered by empowered employees,” he stated.

He also committed to deepening engagement with staff unions to build a culture of trust and shared purpose.

Ojulari urged employees to lead with integrity, act decisively, and remain committed to the company’s transformation journey.

“Together, we will build a high-performing, globally competitive NNPC Ltd. that is proudly Nigerian and proudly world-class,” he said.
