Rave & Roses: Rema’s debut album will transition Afrobeats

On Friday, March 25, 21-year-old Nigerian Afrobeats musician, Rema real name Divine Ikubor released his debut studio album, Rave & Roses.

Rema’s Rave & Roses is coming three years after the youngster released his eponymous music project.

The Jonzing World/Mavins records signee became an instant sensation on the release of Rema EP in 2019.

Rema spoke to a new generation with his voice, personality and avant-garde fashion ideology. He was able to enthrall the emerging Gen Z with his own style of expression.

Equally, in 2019, the Nigerian music industry experienced an interesting transition. New superstars such as Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Tems, Naira Marley and Rema emerged to redefine the beauty of music in Nigeria.

While Burna Boy was in pursuit of his first Grammy award win; Rema was garnering his own army. In the moment where Davido and Wizkid were looking to conquer new worlds, a new coterie of youngsters were in town to put their names on the marquee.

The sensational youngster has found a way to endear himself into the hearts of his fans across the globe. As a matter of fact, former president of the United States of America, Barrack Obama enlisted his single, ‘Iron Man’ as one of his favorite songs in December 2019.

Rema has also received shout outs from international superstars such as Drake, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, to name a few.

Indeed, the future is now.

Love you guys, cheers!”

The album is primarily about Rema’s emergence into superstardom. If you’re in your 20s, what will you do with all the money and attention coming your way?

Rema is a youngster who is thankful for his status as the future of the Afrobeats music genre which is transitioning into a global asset.

The theme of Rema’s project is love, romance, lust and a young lad who is fascinated to be living his dreams. In the moment, Rema resides in the cloud and his listeners are experiencing the expression of the chosen one.

Ladies and gentlemen, everyone should endeavor to take time out of their busy schedule to listen to the words of the newly crowned prince of Afrobeats.
