On Sunday, November 12, English Premier League giants, Chelsea and reigning champions, Manchester City gave football fans one of the most thrilling games of the 2023/24 season yet.
The eight-goal thriller saw social media users describe the match as the game of the season.
Due to the end-to-end action, netizens described their fascination on the microblogging site, X (formerly known as Twitter). Social media commentators noted that this is easily one of the best football matches they have in recent times.

In the final game for EPL week 12, the top scorer for the 2022/23 season, Erling Haaland took the lead for Manchester City from the penalty spot. Within three minutes, veteran Brazilian defender, Thiago Silva put Chelsea back in the game before former Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling put the Blues ahead.
City defender, Manuel Akanji would bring the game level just minutes before the half-time whistle.
Halaand would get his second for the night immediately after the second commenced to restore City’s lead, however, Nico Jackson would bring the Stamford Bridge team back into the game in the 67th minute.
In the latter part of the game, Rodri put City ahead once again until another former Manchester City and youth product, Cole Palmer slotted home a penalty to complete the 8-goal thriller.
Following the impressive performance from both teams on Sunday night, netizens stated that this is the game of the season.
