Kyari, who represented Borno North Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly also announced the postponement of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings that was earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Recall that in March 2022, Adamu emerged as APC national chairman about two years after the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) was dissolved.

NRTC confirmed that trouble began for Adamu during the buildup to the APC presidential primary in June 2022 when he announced the then Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as the party’s consensus candidate.

The announcement led to an internal crisis in the party before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu eventually emerged as the party’s flag bearer, defeating Lawan, then Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ex-Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; and others within the APC.
