The dressing of popular Afrobeat singer, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold this week set the internet agog. NRTC WEEKLY gathered that fans of the singer were wow about his new outlook this week.

The singer who has been known for wearing a nice and cute outfit caused buzzing on the internet this week and remains the talk of all Nigerians. 

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that some Netizens attributed Adekunle Gold dressing to a release of new song, while some said the dressing was promoted following TioTequila on 12th of May.

Some fans who are ladies prayed to marry a fashion sense man like that of Adekunle Gold, saying his stylist must be protected at all cost because of his professionality.

Politics: Tinubu makes promises, tour ahead of May 29

Nigeria President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commenced a tour across some states as there remains twenty-three [23] days to his inauguration. Tinubu who was elected on February 25 will resume office on May 29 after the successful handling of power to him by the Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

He promised Nigerians that the unity of the country is not negotiable as well as fulfilling all his campaign promises, NRTC WEEKLY confirmed.

Tinubu, whose campaign manifesto was tagged ‘Renewed Hope’, disclosed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State that as soon as he assumed office as President on May 29, the reformation would commence.

He further reiterated to wage war against poverty; insecurity, corruption, communal clashes, and other issues affecting the growth of the country.

NRTC WEEKLY investigation revealed that Tinubu’s visit to Governor Nyesom Wike who declared a public holiday to receive the president-elect caused a crisis in the All Progressive Congress (APC) party.

APC in their dissociating statement signed by the party spokesperson, Darlington Nwauju said the oil-rich state visitation was not of APC but as private on the invitation of Governor Wike. 

He added that it has nothing to do with the APC in the state, saying Wike should play less divisive politics and exercise restraint in planting seeds of discord amongst opposition political parties.

“All we need is action immediately. He took the mantle not all these online batting. We don’t need empty promises; Nigeria must develop because that’s a promise he made.

“Buhari made the same promises and we see nothing, hence, the incoming president should not tread on the same path as the outgoing,” Netizens said.

Metro: Minister of State and Power loses father

Minister of State for power, Gody Jedy-Agba, has lost his father, His Royal Majesty Uti (Dr) Joseph Davies Agba, OON. Uti Item 111 of Utugwang, Uti Ukani 1 of Obudu one of the longest-serving traditional rulers in Africa. The monarch ascended to the traditional royal stool 64 years ago.

His death was announced by Kjay Jedy-Agba, his son, in Calabar, Cross River state capital, saying the immediate family do not have the full details of his final funeral protocol given his standing as a king.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that the King will be buried by the tradition of the people in all events that would culminate in his final obsequies.

According to his son, the burial of the late monarch who was the chancellor of Cross River State University (UNICROSS) would be made known to the public.

“As difficult as this moment is for the family, it is my sincere wish that your hearts stay with us in prayers.”

In his condolence statement to the Minister, President Muhammadu Buhari said he believes that His Royal Majesty’s steadfast devotion and dedication to the well-being of his people since acceding to the throne in 1959 will never be forgotten.

In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu affirmed that the wisdom, courage, dignity, and magnanimity of the beloved Royal Father in the several positions he held will continue to serve as a shining example to all.

He prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the Royal Father and comfort to all who mourn.

Business: Nigerians forget newly redesigned naira easily

Netizens set the internet agog this week following a trend asking where are the newly redesigned naira by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The new naira introduced by the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele causes many businesses to shut down and many die.

The naira was not in circulation causing many Nigerians to storm the streets to protest, loot and set some banks ablaze by the allegations of keeping the money.

Things went back to normal after the Supreme Court directed that the old notes should continue circulating with the new ones till March 31st, 2023.

NRTC WEEKLY investigation revealed that the newly redesigned naira is vanishing from the market begging the question “Where are our new notes?”. Many opined that the whole policy of the naira redesigned was to embezzle money.

Another set of people stated that Emefiele, Buhari, Banks, and some concerned stakeholders purposefully designed that for suffering Nigerians.

“We don’t see new notes again. What’s happening in this country? The old notes they once rejected are now in circulation.

“Nigerians demand an explanation from the concerned bodies as soon as possible.” Netizens stated.

Sport: Oshimen wins Serie A with Napoli

Nigerian football striker, Victor Osimhen, has won the Serie A title with Napoli for the first time since 1990 following their 1-1 draw against Udinese.

Victor Osimhen scored the Scudetto-winning goal for Napoli against Udinese at the Udine stadium after playing a draw in their last game.

Lazio could have a mathematical chance to overtake the runaway leaders but lost it with Napoli’s lead with 16 points with just five games remaining in the season.

Oshimen expressed happiness for all Napoli fans worldwide, saying they deserve the Scudetto more than Neapolitans — the players. The striker who is now awarded the African player with multiple goals in a single season taking over Samuel Eto noted that he didn’t care who scored but wanted to get the trophy.

He further stated that all he wanted was to enjoy the moment for the rest of his life. 

However, NRTC WEEKLY found out that the striker’s thousand fans celebrated his wonderful feat with fanfare, especially Nigerians. 

“He is the best player because he played very well. He’s number one in Africa with the current record he’s holding.

“If the Nigerian football team has the best Coach and Technical Director, all will be fine with him. He’ll play well.” They said.
